Ashes at Sea, Ash Scattering

Many people, either for reasons of their faith or from past association with the sea, wish to have their ashes scattered at sea.

Mamarine can take you, your friends or loved ones (upto 18) out from the Marina, where we can berth and set the yacht to rest. From the rear of the Yacht you can pour the ashes into the sea and put in any floral tributes, buoquets or other memorable items.

When you are ready, we go back to the Marina. If you bring any music with you, we can play this over the sound system as and when you want.

In view of such risks, there are very few places around the coast where sea burials are permitted. Indeed, the licensing authority normally recommends that, rather than burial of the body at sea, consideration should be given to the scattering at sea of cremation ashes. This alternative does not require a licence issued under the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985.

14:15 - You and your party will be met by our Skipper will meet the party outside the Lulworth Cafe Universal Marina
The Group will be escorted to South Pontoon and where you will board your vessel for today Azimut 42 - "Zoe Due" an Italian Flybridge Motor Cruiser
Safety Briefing and familiarization of vessel - (Tea/Coffee Available throughout your stay aboard)
14:30 - Crew Cast Off Ropes
We will proceed down the River Hamble before heading off to Sea.
The Skipper will consult with the organiser and arrange the best route/anchorage for the ceremony of scattering of the loved ones ashes depending on the weather (wind/tide etc). We have a range of very peaceful, quiet and secluded anchorage to chose from
15:30 - Anchor will be dropped and the vessel made ready for the Ashes Scattering Ceremony
(appropriate music may be played on the boats sound system if required - organisers are recommended to bring with them CD's / iPod with music of their choice )
The return cruise will be started when sufficient time has elapsed for Relatives and Friends to pay the their personal respects
(Tea/Coffee will be available throughout your time aboard)
Return Cruise back to Universal Marina - Disembarkation
The Skipper will escort the party back to the car park for your return journey(s) home
